WFIT would like to thank all those involved for making last Thursday night’s Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion Concert at Open Mike’s such a rousing success.
Special thanks go to Craig Technologies for generously sponsoring the show and to Open Mike’s (inside Florida Discount Music) for so graciously hosting the event.
You wouldn’t have known that Sarah Lee and Johnny had driven down from Washington, D.C. the night before. The homespun folk duo performed two impassioned sets, mesmerizing both the folkies and rockers in the crowd. The evening highlighted their current CD release (also available on vinyl), Wassaic Way. Produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and Pat Sansone, Wassaic Way ventures off a bit from Sarah and John’s folk roots into the territory of indie rock which is also dear to their hearts.
