Station Announcement

Darlene Brandon

Dec 16, 2014

It is with a very sad heart that I tell you that our good friend Darlene Brandon passed away on Sunday.
As many of you know she has had health issues for a long time but her positive attitude and happy demeanor made her a joy to be around.

Darlene has been an avid and faithful volunteer since 1995. Darlene worked as a receptionist at the front desk, answered phones during fund drives, represented the station at outreach events and was a valuable asset to the station. She will be greatly missed.

Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

WFIT apologizes for the recent broadcast disruptions.

Our transmitter is presently located in a room the size of a walk-in closet. It is stuffed to the ceiling with gear. We are now working with Florida Tech to double the size of the space. This involves a great deal moving and shuffling. Like most renovation projects there have been some unanticipated snags. This has caused some outages to our broadcast. WFIT engineers are working diligently with Florida Tech to resolve these issues. WFIT is thankful for your patience while we complete this project.

Joel Greenblatt, host of WFIT’s Exploring Jazz, will moderate the Space Coast Jazz Panel at 10 p.m. on Monday, November 10.

Tune in to  A Taste of Jazz Monday, November 3rd at 7 p.m. when Dave Fries will broadcast the American Jazz Pianist Competition's (AJPC)  Trio Finals.

The competition was held at Florida Institute of Technology's Gleason Center for Performing Arts on November 1st and 2nd, 2014.

On Sunday, November 2nd, AJPC Finalists competed in Trio Finals from 2 - 4 p.m. The Solo Finals took place from 5 - 6:30 p.m. and were broadcast live by WFIT.

PSA From WFIT - Exercise Your Right To Vote

Election Day  2014 - Tuesday, November 4 is finally upon us. People often say, "my vote won't count" or declare that the "system is broken." The American voter's confidence in politicians and government has decreased and voter turnout remains low.
