Welcome WFIT Intern Heleni Orjales

Heleni hard at work in the studio.

After exploring different options, Heleni found her calling in the career of communication. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Heleni grew up surrounded by media. She was in a dance academy where she performed in front of audiences and competed against other dance companies. She was also a model and used to represent an important model agency in the island through contests, runway shows and television appearances.

President Obama's Sunday Morning Stop At Florida Tech

Melbourne was the third stop in Obama's post-convention bus tour of Florida, on Sunday, Sept. 9th.

His Melbourne speech was given at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center on campus at Florida Institute of Technology. See video of the President's Melbourne visit here.

WFIT would like to thank CP+A Drums for their generous drum set donation to the Performance Studio in our brand new broadcast center.

WFIT is a fan of local craftsmanship, which CP+A exemplifies. Located and manufactured in Melbourne Florida, and owned and operated by Jayce Amneus, CP+A Drums creates high quality hand made segment or stave drum sets and snare drums - all in house. Jayce says it best, "It is my goal to make high quality, unique drums and conduct business in an honest, friendly, and humble manner."

Chris Long Of The Brevard Live Music Awards

The 9th Annual Brevard Live Music Awards will be Monday, August 27, 6:00 p.m. at the Henegar Center in Downtown Melbourne. There will be lots of people, lots of awards and lots of music including a special performance by rock legend Les Dudek. This Friday at noon, we’ll speak to the Master of Ceremonial Craziness of the Brevard Live Music Awards - Chris Long.

It should be fun.

WFIT's New Building Sign

It's official: On our way into work this morning, staff members noticed the glistening WFIT sign on the new building.

Our new state of the art Broadcast Center has been in the works for years - between saving, planning, and pooling together of resources and support. Now, thanks to the tireless efforts of General Manger Terri Wright and so many others, WFIT's dream is a reality.
