Many people receive new cell phones or other new tech devices as holiday gifts. Do you have an old cell phone or other electronic items that need to be recycled? You can stop by WFIT Broadcast Center and drop them off.
WFIT has partnered with The Wireless Alliance, a cell phone and electronics recycling company.
All equipment is repurposed in a zero waste, environmentally-conscious manner.
It is with a very sad heart that I tell you that our good friend Darlene Brandon passed away on Sunday. As many of you know she has had health issues for a long time but her positive attitude and happy demeanor made her a joy to be around.
Darlene has been an avid and faithful volunteer since 1995. Darlene worked as a receptionist at the front desk, answered phones during fund drives, represented the station at outreach events and was a valuable asset to the station. She will be greatly missed.
Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
WFIT apologizes for the recent broadcast disruptions.
Our transmitter is presently located in a room the size of a walk-in closet. It is stuffed to the ceiling with gear. We are now working with Florida Tech to double the size of the space. This involves a great deal moving and shuffling. Like most renovation projects there have been some unanticipated snags. This has caused some outages to our broadcast. WFIT engineers are working diligently with Florida Tech to resolve these issues. WFIT is thankful for your patience while we complete this project.
