Music lovers of all ages are invited to spend “Sunday with the Symphony!”
 

Presented by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, this fun, family-friendly, event will feature live music from BSO musicians and an opportunity to meet Music Director and Principal Conductor, Christopher Confessore. As a special treat, the Orchestra will also give the first 50 guests, ages 18 and up, a voucher good for one free ticket to an upcoming BSO concert.*

Event begins at 3:00pm and is free to attend.

WFIT is your source for new, creative, independent music. One of our favorite things about Fridays (aside from being Friday) is all the new EP’s and albums that are released. We’ve picked some of our favorites for this week.

On this week's episode of All Songs Considered, Bob Boilen and guest host Stephen Thompson play new music from Regina Spektor, experimental rap from Clipping, which features Daveed Diggs of Hamilton, and a great synth track from singer-songwriter Lowell.

This week we begin the cycle of the Beethoven piano concerti, of which there are five.

Beethoven arrived in Vienna as a young man the way Bob Dylan later arrived in New York: a country bumpkin determined to make a big splash in the world. and what better way to do it than with his own concerti featuring himself as soloist. Alas, things went badly for Beethoven: as his writing became more ambitious, progressive hearing loss robbed him of his ability to  perform ensemble works. We'll listen to the process as it unfolded this Thursday and over the next four weeks.
