Meet EJ Castor - WFIT Station Intern

WFIT is pleased to introduce station intern, EJ Castor.

EJ Castor is originally from northwest Texas. She left Texas two weeks after High School graduation and moved to Heidelberg, Germany. For the next year, she worked in the Heidelberg American community to pay for opportunities to travel throughout Europe.

9th Annual International Festival at Florida Tech's Clemente Center, Feb. 28

Due to a high chance of rain on Saturday, the 2015 International Festival has been relocated to the Clemente Center on the Florida Tech campus.

The International Festival, first held in 2007, is an annual celebration of cultural diversity and international community held at the Florida Tech campus in Melbourne, Florida.

On Saturday, February 23rd from noon to 5 p.m., the 7th Annual International Festival will transform Panther Plaza on the Florida Tech campus. This vibrant cultural extravaganza is my personal favorite among the numerous unique events held on campus throughout the year.

Ethiopian Student Spotlight

Arsema Mulugeta Assefa is one of just a few Ethiopian students who make up the larger international student body at Florida Tech.

Some highlights from Arsema's interview follow.

On why she wanted to come to the U.S. and how she plans to return to Ethiopia:

"For me personally, it was to do with the amount of freedom, and I was able to pursue what I wanted to do, who I wanted to be here. But most people leave (Ethiopia) and don't come back, and that's not my intention. I actually want to go back, make a difference in my country."
