The 16th Annual ArtWorks Fine Arts Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Artworks Festival is a “plein-air” show and takes places on Highland Avenue in the historic Eau Gallie Arts District in Melbourne. "Plein air” is a term derived from the French phrase “en plein air”, which literally means “in the open air.” The unique requirement that each artist create works as they exhibit or demonstrate their techniques makes this an extraordinary show for both artists and patrons.
"The blues ain't nothing but a good man feelin' bad." That is what WFIT's very own blues DJ "Mr. Z" is going through. Gary Zajac, aka Mr. Z has been diagnosed recently with mantle cell lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Like many personalities in our music community, Mr. Z does not have health insurance and the medical bills are piling up. With a little help from his friends, a benefit concert will be held at Lou's Blues on Sunday, November 11th from 7 p.m. to closing.
The theme of the 2012 Progressive Fest is Communities in Action. The Fest is an opportunity for a lively exchange of ideas and a chance to network with people and organizations who are taking action to improve the Brevard community.
