100% Pure Florida Opens at Fifth Avenue Gallery

A longtime hub of the art scene in Brevard County, Fifth Avenue Art Gallery presents its 11th annual "100% Pure Florida" exhibition opening Aug. 30 that runs through Oct. 1.  The call for entries has been answered by talented Florida artists from Miami to Vero Beach, Tampa to Jacksonville, as well as Palm Beach gardens, New Smyrna and Orlando.

Harak Rubio: Symbols and Guardians will open Aug. 20 at Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum. The exhibition of recently created works from the Puerto Rico native and Melbourne, Florida, resident Harak Rubio features 32 large-scale abstract paintings and 14 sculptures. It will remain open through Oct. 15. The winner of numerous awards and honors throughout his career, Rubio has his paintings and sculpture displayed widely across Latin America.

Reimagined: Innovations in Fiber by Alex Trimino and Carrie Sieh, will open Saturday, Jan. 23, at Florida Institute of Technology’s Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts.

The Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts at Florida Institute of Technology will present a free gallery talk by featured artist Lisa-Marie Sanders at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, in the center’s galleries.

Early registration is now underway for spring art classes and workshops at Florida Institute of Technology’s Renee Foosaner Education Center in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne.

The new term, which will feature one-day workshops and seven-week-long classes, starts April 7 and runs through May 22. Pre-registration is required for all classes and workshops.
