Sound Waves

Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Since January of 2006, radio listeners on the Space Coast have been enjoying Todd Kennedy’s great music selection on Sound Waves. The show carries a lively mix of contemporary music, independent labels and rock classics. Sound Waves is also one of the few programs on the Space Coast that features live, in-studio sessions and interviews with local and national bands.

Enjoy Sound Waves, your source for new and independent music, online or on your dial at 89.5FM, Melbourne, FL.

Here is the much-requested list of some of the best albums of 2012. This year, listeners of Sound Waves submitted their picks too. It was a great year for debut albums as well as a few career defining records from some legendary artists.

Saxophone player Tim “Johnny Vegas” Burton and guitarist Lawrence Katz from The Mighty Mighty Bosstones joined Sound Waves host Todd Kennedy for a wicked good time at the studio.

Enjoy the new Black Keys "Little Black Submarines" video from your friends at WFIT!

The Great Book of John is led by Taylor Shaw - founding guitarist of Birmingham Alabama's late, great Wild Sweet Orange.

Shaw and fellow band mates, Bekah Fox, Alex Mitchell, Chip Kilpatrick, and Garrett Kelly, joined us in the studio recently on Sound Waves.

Listen to them play some live music, and talk about their appearance at the August 31st surf film premier: The Promised Land.

The 9th Annual Brevard Live Music Awards will be Monday, August 27, 6:00 p.m. at the Henegar Center in Downtown Melbourne. There will be lots of people, lots of awards and lots of music including a special performance by rock legend Les Dudek. This Friday at noon, we’ll speak to the Master of Ceremonial Craziness of the Brevard Live Music Awards - Chris Long.

It should be fun.
