The show carries a lively mix of contemporary music, independent labels and rock classics. It's our first show with new music in 2016! After nearly two months of best-of's, holiday and Sweet 16 specials, we get back to doing what we do best and love most: playing great new music.

NPR Music is bringing back their Tiny Desk contest, asking unknown bands and musicians all over the country to film themselves performing one song at a desk of their choice.

The contest will be sponsored for the second year by Lagunitas Brewing Company, and will secure a spot at the iconic performance space and a U.S. tour with NPR Music.
