In this edition of Coastal Connection, Dr. Lauren Toth, research scientist at the biology depatment of Florida Tech, and Philip Gravinese, biology Ph.D. student at Florida Tech, return to the studio to talk about the Beneath the Waves Film Festival. The festival goes from Thursday, Oct. 10 to Friday, Oct. 11 in the Gleason Performing Arts Center on Florida Tech's campus. The free showings will go from 6-9 p.m. both days and will feature movies on the environment and local marine issues.
In this episode of Coastal Connection, Christopher Confessore, music director and principal conductor of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra talks about the inaugural fall Cultural Arts Showcase at the King Center for Performing Arts. From noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, local art groups will perform and offer information on classes, showcases and other events from the Brevard cultural scene. The Food Truck Bazaar will also be nearby to offer gourmet food and snacks.

The 11th is geared to Middle and High School students who are encouraged to enter the Beneath the Waves Youth Making Ripples Competition.
