It seems that almost every non-profit organization with a worthy mission is hosting 5K Runs to help raise awareness about the important work they are doing. To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) wants to know what will you run for? A friend or family member? Fitness? Yourself?
TWLOHA's Mission Statement:
To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
On Saturday, April 20, TWLOHA is hosting ifs first ever 5K Fundraiser Event. The TWLOHA Run For It 5K kicks off at 8 a.m. at the David R. Schecter Center in Satellite Beach. Early registration (before April 19) is $20 and late registration (race day) is $25.
Exercise is probably one of the best things any of us can do for our immediate and long-term physical, mental and emotional health. Runners often speak of the "runners' high" which is likely caused by the endorphins released during physical exertion. The mood enhancing effects of regular exercise are well documented, not to mention the sense of accomplishment we all feel after a good workout.
The TWLOHA Run For It 5K affords members of our community the opportunity to run for their own well-being and for that which is meaningful in our lives.
Online registration is available through the Running Zone. You can e-mail any questions you may have by clicking here. Visit the TWLOHA website for more information about the powerful work this non-profit is doing in our community and beyond.
