Summer Art Camps Showcase Their Work Aug 6-7

Summer is a busy time at the Renee Foosaner Education Center.  This year's camp theme was Pop Art and the camper's labors will be the subject of a professionally mounted exhibition installed in the Ruth Cote Clemente wing of the education center, 1520 Highland Ave. Campers were asked to submit a piece of their work, and the exhibition will include art media such as printmaking, found objects, painting and drawing.

Friends and family of campers are invited to the exhibition from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. The general public may visit from 5:30-7:30 p.m. the next day, Friday, Aug. 7.

But the end of summer does not mean the end of education at Foosaner.

Early registration for fall classes and workshops at the Renee Foosaner Education Center will begin Aug. 7, and a 10 percent discount on tuition is available until Sept. 1.

The new term, which will feature workshops and multi-week- classes, starts Sept. 15 and runs through Nov. 20. Pre-registration is required for all classes and workshops.

Upcoming workshops include “Light Writing” on Oct. 15, “Clay for Couples” on Sept. 18, and “Everything is Sacred: Stories of Everyday with Marg Kuhl” on Nov. 14

Classes, held Tuesday through Saturday, will be offered in a variety of subjects for both adults and children such. They include home school art group; pottery; watercolor; figure drawing; acrylics; and drawing.
