Special Guests On A Taste Of Jazz And Freedom In The Groove Tonight
A Taste of Jazz and Freedom in the Groove will both bring you live interviews and performances with jazz notables tonight at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.!
First at 8 p.m., A Taste of Jazz will host a live performance with Kenny Lee Lewis of the Steve Miller Band.
Then at 10 p.m., master jazz pianist Gerard D’Angelo will be joining Freedom in the Groove for a live interview.
Kenny Lee Lewis is best known as a studio guitarist and bassist and has worked with Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Money, Dave Mason, Billy Preston, Peter Frampton, Boz Scaggs, Brian Wilson and Steve Stills. Kenny Lee has just released his new contemporary jazz instrumental guitar DE "New Vintage" and will be jammin' live on A Taste of Jazz with Ron Pirtle, Dan Wilborn and Nick Chirico.
The Steve Miller Band will also be featured on World Cafe today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Gerard D’Angelo will tell us about his experience sharing the stage with everyone from jazz legend Nat Adderley to comedian Billy Crystal. He will also tell us what it is like giving piano lessons to actor Ben Stiller!
As a special bonus, Gerard will share information on how to receive a free download of his latest release “9th Avenue Jam” with his group Rodwell & Friends featuring Steve LaSpina and Tony Tedesco. D’Angelo is New York City’s best-kept jazz secret.
