Terri Wright: We are going to start out by talking a little about Promise.
Sue Carlson: Promise in Brevard will be a residential community in West Melbourne on 39 acres of land, which will be for young adults with special needs to live in a community where they have other peers, similar to themselves, to live there and work there if they need to.
TW: It’s the perfect opportunity for these people to reach out, to expand and to grow; have freedom and still live in a somewhat controlled environment.
SC: Yes, somewhat controlled, but they will have a lot of freedom just that they never thought that they would have before.
TC: That brings us to the ScrubJay 5k this is the inaugural event, tell us all about it.
Nancy Palmer: The ScrubJay 5k and Duathlon will take place January 27 and we are partnering with the space coast wildlife and birding festival that the Brevard nature alliance puts out … Its 5k a 12.4 mile bike ride and then another 5k.
TC: And they can preregister on the website?
NP: Right, at scrubjay5k.com On the website it shows where you can register for the 5k or the Duathlon.
