Dave Fries is happy to announce that prize laureate Rémi Durupt will be his special guest tonight on A Taste of Jazz. Rémi Durupt’s artistic path has led him to embrace the diversity of musical expression, from electronic composition to improvisation.
Eclectic and curious, he has collaborated in France and internationally as a member of numerous contemporary music ensembles both as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed in Europe and North America and will be in artistic residency in Montreal, Barcelona and here at Florida Tech.
We will talk with Rémi about how percussion integrates into the are of not only jazz but other musical genres as well. Rémi describes his music as “free form” and will be demonstrating his talents on vibraphone and other percussion instruments.
