Marriage Equality has come to Florida. On January 6, 2015, Florida became the thirty-sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage in all 67 counties.
Several Brevard County organizations have been working steadfastly for years to bring about this legislation and they're in the mood to celebrate!
Friendship Fellowship at Pineda, Unitarian Universalist Congregation, invites same-sex couples to a very special wedding event. On Saturday, February 14, all fees will be waived and free, simple ceremonies will be performed by Reverend Beth Miller. Space Coast Pride has issued a Press Release announcing that the 8th Annual Pride Festival and Parade will be held on Saturday, September 26th in the Eau Gallie Arts District. The purpose of the festival is to foster a sense of community within all of the LGBT community and to unite and celebrate diversity with straight families, friends, neighbors and organizations. Space Coast Pride is grateful to several other Brevard community organizations, most notably Brevard NOW and the Space Coast Progressive Alliance for their work on behalf of social justice and equality.
