Listen to the new album Nightingale Floors from Rogue Wave. It's Rogue Wave's fifth album and first for indie punk label Vagrant Records. Nightingale Floors finds the band secure in it's sound and brimming with confidence.
"College" sounds so anachronistic in 2013's indie schematic that it almost qualifies as punk, as Rogue Wave wield collegiate guitar jangle nudged by off-kilter time signatures and an instantly memorable hook of major-thirds, with John Congleton's crisp production siphoning out the soft haze that cloaked their earlier work. Rogue's lyrics are still pretty cryptic, but once you pick out "knowledge" as a titular rhyme, it's easy to hear it as an acknowledgment of Rogue Wave coming to know thyself. --Pitchfork
