The King Center For Performing Arts Presents Bonnie Raitt

Thanks to theKing Center for Performing Arts, the Brevard community will have the opportunity to enjoy a an evening with the legendary Bonnie Raitt on Tuesday, October 23rd.

According to a recent segment on World Cafe, although Bonnie Raitt began releasing albums 40 years ago, her latest release, Slipstream is among her best work yet:

"Bonnie Raitt is a blues-rock legend with nine Grammys and five platinum albums under her belt. Her rootsy and passionate take on everything blues — combined with her intimate understanding of composition, deft slide-guitar skills and soulful vocals — helped Raitt become an icon. It's been 40 years since Raitt started releasing albums, and she's still in remarkably fine form. In fact, her new 16th studio release ranks among her best yet. Slipstream comes seven years after her last release, and it's a daring and introspective album with reggae, soul, rock and blues influences."

WFIT is a fan of Bonnie Raitt's and will be offering tickets to her October 23rd concert as a "thank you premium" during the station's Fall Fund Drive which runs Friday, September 21 through Monday, October 1.

Special guest Maia Sharp, a gifted singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist, will perform as well.
