Florida Native Plant Tour Saturday October 11

Learn more about natural landscapes at the native plant tour Saturday October 11th from 10am  to 4 pm.

This garden tour presented by the Conradina Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society lets you visit five yards with predominantly native Florida plants in their landscaping.  Talk to the homeowners and Conradina Chapter FNPS volunteers about selecting and caring for native plants.  Information will be shared about watering, fertilizer and pesticide usage.  The yards of this tour contain at least 75% or more of Florida native plants.  In many cases, the homeowners made a gradual change from non-natives to Florida natives.  Every yard has plenty of stories and visitors - like the frequent visits by birds and butterflies.

Yard tour booklets will provide each guest with a list of the yard addresses, directions, information about the owner and how they got started in native plants for landscaping. You can purchase the booklet in person at Maple Street Natives in West Melbourne 321-729-6857. You may also purchase them online at Conradina.eventbrite.com<http://www.eventbrite.com/e/landscaping-with-florida-natives-yard-tour-tickets-12691832613>.

Cost is $6.00 each.

Two of the yards are located in Palm Bay; two are in Indialantic and one is located in Melbourne Beach.  You are welcome to start your tour at any of the yards.  Please come, enjoy and learn how Florida native plants can enhance your own yard!  Check our web site for more information conradina.fnpschapters.org<http://conradina.fnpschapters.org/>.
