Find Yourself In Nature With WFIT’s Brevard Wildlife Corridor Coverage

For sixteen days in April, the Space Coast will be host to hikers, bikers, paddlers, horseback riders and more during the Brevard Wildlife Corridor Expedition.

The Space Coast of Florida boasts a variety of habitats to explore, from coastal scrub and forested uplands to open prairies and maritime hammocks. Inspired by the Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition that completed in April 2012, the Brevard Wildlife Corridor Expedition will feature the active involvement of many expert guides, residents and visitors.  Members of the Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition team, who traveled 1000 miles in 100 days from the Everglades to the Okefenokee, will serve as keynote speakers during the Expedition.

The motto of the Brevard Wildlife Corridor Expedition is “Find yourself in nature”. The event is designed to build awareness of conservation lands and wildlife corridors here in Brevard County, Florida.

WFIT’s Michelle Walker will report on the expedition and some issues facing Brevard County’s wild places and wildlife. Keep up with the coverage on Facebook, Twitter and of course, on WFIT 89.5 FM.
