An Evening With Amy Goodman Comes To Florida Tech March 16

Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of the award-winning radio program Democracy Now! will speak at Florida Institute of Technology's Gleason Performing Arts Center Friday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. 

Democracy Now! is broadcast Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. on WFIT 89.5 FM.

Goodman is the first journalist to receive the Right Livelihood Award, widely known as the “Alternative” Nobel Prize for “developing an innovative model of truly grassroots political journalism that brings to millions of people the alternative voices that are often excluded by the mainstream media.”

The Independent of London called Amy Goodman and Democracy Now! “an inspiration;” and PULSE named her one of the 20 top Global Media Figures of 2009.

Goodman is the author of four New York Times bestsellers.  Her most recent book, Breaking the Sound Barrier, will be sold at the event.  Following the program, Goodman will do a book signing.

An Evening with Amy Goodman is co-hosted by WFIT and Space Coast Progressive Alliance.

The cost is $20 at the door; free admission for students with valid ID's.
