BTAN Provides HIV/Aids Education to the Community

Understanding and knowledge are the keys to HIV/Aids treatment and prevention.  BTAN is a local group that provides organizations with the facts to better understand HIV/Aids.  With the multitude of HIV/Aids myths that are circulating, BTAN's factual approach to educating the community is a welcome service by many groups, schools, churches and families.    To find out more contact Yvette Torres 321 745-7912.

Anyone Can Get HIV

FACT. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates 1.1 million people age 13 and older are infected with HIV, and 50,000 people are newly infected each year. Anyone can be infected with HIV. In 2010, men who have sex with men accounted for 63% of new infections, and women accounted for 20% of new infections. The incidence of HIV among African-Americans is about 8 times as high as in whites.
