King Center for the Performing Arts

Don't miss the annual spring concert of the Brevard Community Chorus, when they present Giuseppe Verdi "Requiem”, under the direction of Dr. Robert E. Lamb.

The Brevard Community Chorus is a volunteer organization of 100-plus voices that meets weekly for the purpose of rehearsing and performing the larger works of the choral repertoire. At its home in the Maxwell C. The current conductor of the chorus is Dr. Robert E. Lamb who came to BCC in 1998 to continue steering the chorus in exciting directions. Under his leadership, the chorus has continued to tour Europe during summers and has performed a number of times alongside the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.
Dr. Lamb is currently Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Chair of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Brevard Community College. The North Carolina native attended Wake Forest University and later the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where, he earned a Master of Music in Choral Conducting.
Lamb earned the Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He was the 2006 recipient of the Julius Herford Prize, awarded by the American Choral Directors Association, for his doctoral work concerning French Baroque composer, Michel-Richard de Lalande.
