6th Annual Native Rhythms Festival at Wickham Park, Nov. 7-9

I can almost hear the hauntingly beautiful sounds of Native American flutes and drums that will fill the air at Wickham Park, Melbourne this weekend.  The 6th Annual Native Rhythms Festival takes place Friday, November 7th through Sunday, November 9th.

The celebration is held each November in honor of National American Indian Heritage Month. Just last week, Melbourne Mayor Kathy Meehan issued a  proclamation declaring November as Native American Heritage Month in the city of Melbourne.

The Native Heritage Gathering, Inc. and the Indian River Flute Circle are hosting this celebration of Native American music, arts and crafts. Musical performances will take place throughout each day with headliner performances in the late afternoon through 10 p.m.

Award-winning musicians from across the country will perform throughout the weekend - including two-time Grammy Award winning Native American flutist and performer, Robert Mirabal.

Enjoy free workshops, beading, drumming, vendors, native-style and environmental arts, crafts, food and more. An event highlight is the raffle/silent auction. This family-friendly festival is free and open to the public. Ample parking is available.

For additional information, including a list or entertainers, performance times, workshop schedules and much more, visit the Native Rhythms Festival website.
