The Space Coast Progressive Alliance is pleased to announce that the Progressive Festis back. This community wide event will be held Sunday, October 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eau Gallie Civic Center, 1551 Highland Avenue, Melbourne.
The theme of the 2012 Progressive Fest is Communities in Action. The Fest is an opportunity for a lively exchange of ideas and a chance to network with people and organizations who are taking action to improve the Brevard community.
Exhibits and demonstrations by local non-profits and businesses will include free healthy care screenings, Supervisor of Elections services, the environment, local and organic food production, animal rescue services and education, domestic violence awareness, gardening and green living presentations, candidate information, ALEC, Florida Ballot Amendments, Judges, a canned food drive for local charities, kids' activities and a free prize drawing.
Although social justice, the environment, local politics and progressive community organizations are the core of the Progressive Fest, you'll also enjoy art and gift exhibits and lots of kids' activities. WFIT 89.5 FM will be there to share the benefits of community radio and Public Broadcasting.
