Todd Kennedy

Program Director / Sound Waves Host

Originally from Boston, Todd Kennedy began volunteering at WFIT 89.5 FM in 1992 as a late night jazz DJ. In 1998 he was hired as Director of Operations and in 2004 he became Program Director.

As Program Director, he is responsible for formulating the sound of the station. His daily duties include managing broadcast communications, operating satellite services and broadcast automation systems. He is also in charge of overseeing all studio productions and digital editing.

He also plays an important role in coordinating fundraising materials, outreach events and underwriting activities. He trains and supervises community volunteers and on-air hosts, and has been seeing doing a little plumbing and vacuuming on the side.

Todd’s energy and great passion for music can be enjoyed every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sound Waves, the show he has been hosting since January 2006.

Lauren Marie and Band Live in Studio
Rose Mantle

We loved having local singer/songwriter Lauren Marie at WFIT for a Live in Studio Session. Lauren's new album Welcome to the Family is now available on ITunes.

Here's a couple of video clips from that session.

Todd Kennedy will have an interview with Dave Wakeling of The English Beat on Sound Waves at 1:00 Friday.

WFIT DJs will be sitting in on Sound Waves at noontime each day during our 2015 Spring Fund Drive. On Monday, we’ll chat with the Sandman from Private Radio about Texas music. Meet Christoph from Christoph’s Vault on Tuesday to talk about groovy jam band tunes.

WFIT welcomes Andy Harrington of Heliophonic.
