Todd Kennedy

Program Director / Sound Waves Host

Originally from Boston, Todd Kennedy began volunteering at WFIT 89.5 FM in 1992 as a late night jazz DJ. In 1998 he was hired as Director of Operations and in 2004 he became Program Director.

As Program Director, he is responsible for formulating the sound of the station. His daily duties include managing broadcast communications, operating satellite services and broadcast automation systems. He is also in charge of overseeing all studio productions and digital editing.

He also plays an important role in coordinating fundraising materials, outreach events and underwriting activities. He trains and supervises community volunteers and on-air hosts, and has been seeing doing a little plumbing and vacuuming on the side.

Todd’s energy and great passion for music can be enjoyed every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sound Waves, the show he has been hosting since January 2006.

Ways to Connect

Tune in St. Patrick's Day at noon for a special encore airing of our session with Kilt The Messenger. In early 2009, in a dimly lit, smoke filled bar on the East Coast of Florida, Kilt the Messenger powered up their guitars, struck in their bagpipes and introduced a small crowd to a brand of indie punk rock, the likes of which few had heard before.

New Local Music

Feb 13, 2017

New local music received at WFIT so far this year.

Listen to WFIT daily for the newest local music.

A lot of great bands started in a garage.  The Velvet Underground, The Clash and Nirvana just to name a few.

This month WFIT 89.5 FM is looking for the next great garage band on the Space Coast.
