Todd Kennedy

Program Director / Sound Waves Host

Originally from Boston, Todd Kennedy began volunteering at WFIT 89.5 FM in 1992 as a late night jazz DJ. In 1998 he was hired as Director of Operations and in 2004 he became Program Director.

As Program Director, he is responsible for formulating the sound of the station. His daily duties include managing broadcast communications, operating satellite services and broadcast automation systems. He is also in charge of overseeing all studio productions and digital editing.

He also plays an important role in coordinating fundraising materials, outreach events and underwriting activities. He trains and supervises community volunteers and on-air hosts, and has been seeing doing a little plumbing and vacuuming on the side.

Todd’s energy and great passion for music can be enjoyed every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sound Waves, the show he has been hosting since January 2006.

Ways to Connect

We had  an awesome Live In Studio Session with Someday River.  The Orlando trio talked about their new EP Sleeping Sideways and their contribution to a new compilation album to benefit victims and families of the Pulse shootings in Orlando along with performing a great set.

We had a blistering  Live In Studio Session with guitar virtuoso and WFIT host Brian Tarquin.  Brian talked about his long and storied career in the music business and he and his band performed a smoking set.

Brian is the host of Guitar Trax on WFIT 89.5 FM.  The show airs Monday nights at 10:00.

Death Cab for Cutie, CHVRCHES and Pure Bathing Culture have been announced as new shows at the St. Augustine Ampitheatre coming this summer.

The show is scheduled for June 14, a Tuesday. Doors open at 5, show starts at 6.

We work to keep our beaches as natural as possible, preserve and enhance beach access, and we're also involved in efforts to restore the IRL.
