Rose Mantle

Public Service Announcement Director, Membership Support

After serving as a volunteer, Rose Mantle joined the staff of WFIT in 2007.  As Public Service Announcement Director, Rose writes copy for the hundreds of announcement requests WFIT receives from the Space Coast and Treasure Coast communities.  She also serves as Membership Assistant and volunteer coordinator, writes grants for the station, represents WFIT at community events, and contributes to social media. 

Before moving to Melbourne Beach from Sonoma, California, Rose worked in advertising and communications, first as an account executive for the Sonoma Index-Tribune, a venerable local newspaper, and at ValPak Direct Marketing where Rose expanded her love of language and honed the skills necessary for her many duties at WFIT.

Rose attended Orange Coast Community College in Costa Mesa, California and earned her bachelor’s degree in English at Sonoma State University in 1976.

WFIT is an integral and rewarding part of Rose’s life in Florida.  She is deeply proud of her position with this National Public Radio affiliate.  Rose takes great pleasure in assisting non-profit organizations promote their philanthropic and cultural missions.  Most rewarding is working alongside the tight knit and creative community of the WFIT staff and volunteers.

When not busy with her duties at the station, Rose enjoys music, reading, gardening, mentoring high school students, exercise, and playing the piano.  She travels with her husband to California twice a year to spend time with lifelong friends and family.

Time To Take Stock

I was pleased when a Public Service Message (PSA) request appeared in my inbox with the subject line: Take Stock in Children Mentor Training. The holidays are in full swing here in Brevard County. To quote a time-honored song, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year for most of us. Perhaps the holidays bring out your inner child as magical memories of seasons past dance in your head. If you are religious, you’ll be observing the holidays with reverence and contemplation of your faith. Many of us enjoy the holidays as a secular but festive and meaningful time to be with the ones we love and celebrate life in all its beauty.

2012 Progressive Fest Highlights Communities In Action

The Space Coast Progressive Alliance is pleased to announce that the Progressive Fest is back. This community wide event will be held Sunday, October 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eau Gallie Civic Center, 1551 Highland Avenue, Melbourne.

The theme of the 2012 Progressive Fest is Communities in Action. The Fest is an opportunity for a lively exchange of ideas and a chance to network with people and organizations who are taking action to improve the Brevard community.
