The Brevard County Libraries are featuring the New York Times best-selling book “The Fault in Our Stars” by award winning author John Green as the One Book Brevard selection to read this summer.
On June 10 at 6:00pm, Satellite Beach Library will host an “Evening of Awesome” which includes a book discussion, t-shirt craft, nerdfighter mad-libs and vlog brothers video viewing. This program is open for teens from ages 12-18.
In addition, a raffle is ongoing for a collector’s edition of the book with a drawing on July 1. The raffle is open to the public for ages 12 and up.
Monday night at 10, WFIT will broadcast a very special live recording of jazz guitarist and host of WFIT’s Freedom in the Groove, Matt Heister. Matt will be leaving WFIT to pursue new and exciting opportunities in the music world.
Last month we recorded Matt and his NYC Jazz Trio when they performed at our broadcast booster party in our new performance studio. This will be the first live session recording from this incredible new studio.
WFIT will air this special live recording on Monday night at 10pm on WFIT 89.5 FM and streaming at wfit.org.

Florida Institute of Technology’s all-faculty band TWITCHY will rock the dinosaur bones and planetary displays at the Orlando Science Center from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, June 7, as the facility holds its Science Night Live event.
Led by Florida Tech President and CEO Anthony Catanese and featuring Senior Vice President for External Relations & Economic Development Winston Scott, a two-time shuttle astronaut, the band will jam its way through rock music, timeless classics and more at this 21-and-older event.
Melbourne In May Food Festival is Saturday, May 31 at Riverview Park. The festival is a major food drive initiative culminating in a festival with food, arts and crafts vendors, giveaways and entertainment. The event will feature many of Central Florida's most popular food truck vendors.
