In this episode of Coastal Connection, Carol Colombo and Mary Dru Bowman of The Haven for Children introduce Vroom! - The Havenly Affair 2013. The charity event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19 and will feature selections of a never-before-seen private collection of Ferraris and Aston-Martin, ranging from vintage race cars to modern supercars.
The event will benefit The Haven for Children, a charity that strives to meet the needs of neglected, abused and abandoned children in Brevard County and East Central Florida by assuring the highest quality of care for the children and the program’s continued success.
In this edition of Coastal Connection, Dr. Lauren Toth, research scientist at the biology depatment of Florida Tech, and Philip Gravinese, biology Ph.D. student at Florida Tech, return to the studio to talk about the Beneath the Waves Film Festival. The festival goes from Thursday, Oct. 10 to Friday, Oct. 11 in the Gleason Performing Arts Center on Florida Tech's campus. The free showings will go from 6-9 p.m. both days and will feature movies on the environment and local marine issues.

After five years, 400+ shows, and four award-winning albums, New Jersey-based 21-year-old singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford & The Reason Why returns to our studio. Quincy just released his fifth album, Its Only Change, which was recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo). This August 20 session features the funky soulful sounds of Quincy Mumford his band in an acoustic set.
