HEELS 'N WHEELS GALA - MAY 5, 2018

Heels & Wheels "Cinco De Mayo" is the Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation second annual black tie event being held for Alzheimer's & Brain awareness. 

A critical part of NASA's next $2 billion rover mission to Mars broke during testing earlier this month.

The Mars 2020 mission's heat shield was undergoing stress-testing when it developed a crack that appeared around its entire circumference. The shield is designed to protect the rover as it enters the Martian atmosphere.

Doubt comes out from under the woodwork at the most inconvenient times. When you're Lindsey Jordan — the 19-year-old guitarist and songwriter whose second album as Snail Mail, Lush, comes out June 8 — that worry manifests as four burly hockey players.

This Friday April 27, Sound Waves will feature a studio performance with guitarist, composer, producer, author and WFIT radio host Brian Tarquin.  Brian has put together a heartfelt tribute CD Orlando In Heaven dedicated to the Pulse shooting tragedy featuring fellow guitarist Mike Stern (Miles Davis), Chris Poland (Megadeath), Hal Lindes (Dire Straits) and late guitarist Larry Coryell.  The lyrics to the title song were written by local author and musician John Leach.

After months of searching, the fourth annual Tiny Desk Contest winner has been announced!

The Indian River Research Institute presents a Living Dock Workshop on April 28th at Lighthouse Cove in Melbourne Beach.  Free and open to the public.  9am until 12 pm.  More information.

Juliana Hatfield was a darling of the '90s indie music scene. She played with Blake Babies and The Lemonheads and had a hit with the edgy pop song, "My Sister." Hatfield released a string of alternative albums since those days, full of distorted guitars and strong vocals.
